Join Camp Safety Network members Thomas Appleyard, Bev Unger, and Suzanne Ross for this one-day workshop. Our three expert facilitators will walk through key concepts camp employers need to be aware off to help with the prevention and handling of incidents of harassment between staff. Relevant resources and suggestions for policy and procedure development will be provided.
Instruction is done through slideshow, audio files, small and large group discussion, & actives. All material are provided, including a digital workbook.
Please note: the content of this session focuses on camp as a workplace. Information is not focused on camper/staff incidents, or incidents of harassment involving minors.
9:30-10 am: Room open for coffee and socializing
10:00 am: Prompt start to workshop
3:00 pm: Wrap Up
Comfort breaks and lunch break will be given.
Participant are asked to bring their snacks/lunch and a refillable water bottle.
Space is limited to 20. A minimum of 8 is needed to run this workshop.
Participating in this workshop will help people be better informed on what they can do before, during, and after a potential harassment incident within their organization.
This is designed to be of use for individuals working in camps or outdoor education centres at the senior staff level, or above. This could include managers, directors, boar members, senior administrators, and healthcare providers.
Camp Safety Network training around investigation processes embraces a trauma-informed perspective which aims to support all parties involved.
